The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will travel to UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse to take on the Duquesne Dukes this Friday night in College Basketball action.

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 10-4 on the season after being defeated by the Dayton Flyers, 68-50, this past Tuesday. St. Bonaventure struggled offensively against Dayton and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 35-23 margin. St. Bonaventure shot just 35.2% from the field & 17.4% from beyond the arc while allowing Dayton to shoot 53.8% from the field & 55.6% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bonnies was Jalen Adaway who had 15 points, 6 rebounds, & 1 block.

On the season, St. Bonaventure is averaging 70.7 ppg on 44.0% shooting from the field. The Bonnies are averaging 6.4 three-pointers per game on 32.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, St. Bonaventure has been led by Jaren Holmes (15.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.0 spg), Kyle Lofton (14.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5.7 apg, 1.6 spg), Jalen Adaway (14.5 ppg, 7.4 rpg), & Dominick Welch (10.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.2 spg).

Defensively, St. Bonaventure is allowing their opponents to average 67.9 ppg on 42.0% shooting from the field. The Bonnies have a rebound margin of 2.6 and a turnover margin of 0.4.

The Duquesne Dukes lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 6-9 on the season after being defeated by the Dayton Flyers, 72-52, this past Saturday. Duquesne could get nothing going on either end of the court against Dayton and could not fight back after the Flyers took a 53-34 lead with 15:32 left in regulation. Duquesne shot 40.4% from the field & 26.3% from beyond the arc while allowing Dayton to shoot 53.4% from the field & 44.4% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Dukes was Leon Ayers III who had 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Duquesne is averaging 69.4 ppg on 41.9% shooting from the field. The Dukes are averaging 7.1 three-pointers per game on 33.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Duquesne has been led by Leon Ayers III (12.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.6 spg), Amir Spears (12.3 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.7 spg), Kevin Easley (12.1 ppg, 6.5 rpg), & Tre Williams (10.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.3 apg, 2.5 bpg).

Defensively, Duquesne is allowing their opponents to average 71.5 ppg on 46.1% shooting from the field. The Dukes have a rebound margin of -1.1 and a turnover margin of 1.7.

The Bonnies are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games, however, are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. Duquesne. The Dukes are 3-6 ATS in their last 9 games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games.

St. Bonaventure has been led by their defense which ranks 153rd in scoring defense & 138th in defensive FG%, however, the offense has struggled a bit as the Bonnies come into this matchup ranked just 207th in scoring offense, 188th in FG%, & 250th in 3P-FG%. The Dukes have struggled on both ends of the court this season and currently rank just 237th in scoring offense, 283rd in FG%, & 248th in scoring defense.

St. Bonaventure has not lived up to expectations so far this season, however, this team does have some great experience and is just more talented than Duquesne. Duquesne has struggled ATS at home this season and as I just don’t see their offense having much success in this one, I think the Bonnies do enough to cover this small road spread. Good Luck!
