Vanderbilt got off to a choppy 5-4 start this season, then hit a four-game win streak over Austin Peay, Hawaii, BYU and Arkansas. Since then it’s been a 1-3 run with a win over Georgia mixed with losses to South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee.
In the Tennessee game back on Tuesday, Vanderbilt was within one point at halftime. The Commodores hit a 35-28 deficit from there in a 68-60 loss. Scotty Pippen, Jr. led the team on 18 points and five rebounds. Jordan Wright added 15 points as well.
Over on the Florida side, they hit a 9-3 run in their first dozen, losing to Oklahoma, Texas Southern and Maryland along the way. Since losing to Alabama, Auburn and LSU the Gators have taken wins in their last pair over South Carolina and Mississippi State.

Florida is 8-17 ATS in the last 25 Saturday games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up win. The under is 4-1 in the Gators’ last five Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Commodores are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 Saturday games and 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 road games. The under is 7-2 in Vanderbilt’s last nine road games.
PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Florida here. The Gators had a run of three very difficult games against Alabama, Auburn and LSU this month and performed admirably overall. Since then Florida has a combined 151 points in their last pair of games and I think they’ll put up a nice total here as well.
As for Vanderbilt, they’ve faced some tough competition as well lately but they’ve also hit 70 or more points in three of their last five. I like this one to be a higher-scoring game, with the Gators pulling out a cover late. Should be fun.
