The San Francisco Dons will travel to Firestone Fieldhouse to take on the Pepperdine Waves this Saturday night in College Basketball action.

The San Francisco Dons lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 15-4 on the season after being defeated by the top-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs, 78-62, this past Thursday. San Francisco trailed by just a 36-33 margin at halftime, however, the Dons had no answers for the Gonzaga on either end of the court in the 2nd half and could not fight back after the Bulldogs took a 56-40 lead with 10:40 left in regulation. San Francisco shot 36.1% from the field & 28.6% from beyond the arc while allowing Gonzaga to shoot 46.7% from the field & 27.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Dons was Jamaree Bouyea who had 25 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 block.

On the season, San Francisco is averaging 76.6 ppg on 46.9% shooting from the field. The Dons are averaging 9.5 three-pointers per game on 35.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, San Francisco has been led by Jamaree Bouyea (18.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.5 spg), Yauhen Massalski (13.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.5 apg, 2.3 bpg), Khalil Shabazz (12.7 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.9 spg), & Gabe Stefanini (8.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, San Francisco is allowing their opponents to average 66.2 ppg on 41.8% shooting from the field. The Dons have a rebound margin of 6.5 and a turnover margin of -1.2.

The Pepperdine Waves lost their 5th straight game and dropped to 6-14 on the season after being defeated by the Loyola-Marymount Lions, 85-80 (OT), this past Thursday. Pepperdine fought back from a 54-37 deficit with 12:12 left in the 2nd half to force OT, however, the Waves struggled defensively in OT and allowed Loyola-Marymount to walk away with the win. Pepperdine shot 45.3% from the field & 45.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Loyola-Marymount to shoot 47.0% from the field & 36.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Waves was Jan Zidek who had 28 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, Pepperdine is averaging 69.7 ppg on 41.5% shooting from the field. The Waves are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 33.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Pepperdine has been led by Jan Zidek (13.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.2 apg), Houston Mallette (11.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.9 apg), Jade’ Smith (9.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.0 spg), & Mike Mitchell Jr. (8.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, Pepperdine is allowing their opponents to average 76.1 ppg on 45.5% shooting from the field. The Waves have a rebound margin of -1.0 and a turnover margin of -0.9.

The Dons are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games & 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. Pepperdine. The Waves are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games & 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.

San Francisco has been solid on both sides of the court this season and come into this game ranked t-73rd in scoring offense, 51st in FG%, & 104th in scoring defense. Pepperdine has struggled on both ends of the court and come into this game ranked just 229th in scoring offense, 318th in scoring defense, & 305th in defensive FG%.

San Francisco is a good team, however, they haven’t been great ATS this season and I think this is just a bunch of points for the Dons to cover on the road. San Francisco will be playing their 2nd road game in three days and between the fact that I think they will come out sluggish after facing Gonzaga on Thursday and that Pepperdine, despite not being a great team, does have a winning home record, I think the play here is to take Pepperdine and the points. Good Luck!
