The Lafayette Leopards and the Colgate Raiders meet Monday in college basketball action from Cottrell Court. Lafayette is 8-15 on the season so far and beat Lehigh in their last game. As for Colgate, they’re 14-11 this year. The Raiders managed a win over Loyola MD during their most recent appearance. Lafayette hit a 4-11 run to start the year. The Leopards were only able to play four games from December 22 to January 24, though. Since then it’s been a 4-4 run for Lafayette; they’ve beaten American (twice), Bucknell and Lehigh in that time.
In the Lehigh game, Lafayette was up 36-29 at the break. The Leopards were outscored 37-40 from there but still won 73-69. Leading scorer Neal Quinn put up 22 points with six rebounds, and Tyrone Perry added 19 points with four boards.
Over on the Colgate side, they stumbled to a 4-10 start this year but things have gotten much better since. The Raiders are on a 10-1 run in their last 11 outings. They’ve beaten American, Holy Cross, Lehigh and Loyola MD in the last quartet.
Matched up against Loyola MD on Saturday, the Raiders managed 36 points in the first half. Colgate was outscored 29-32 in the second but hung on for the 64-56 win. Keegan Records was the top scorer on 14 points and nine boards.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Colgate. The Raiders have looked great over this 10-1 run (with a lone four-point loss to Boston U). They’ve scored 69 or more points in nine of those 11 games.
Colgate also managed a road victory the last time these teams met up, 72-61 on January 31. Colgate shot a tepid 40.7 percent from the field in that one but also hauled in 42 rebounds. I like a similar outcome here as the Raiders keep their run going.
