Hofstra vs Charleston 2/28/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The College of Charleston Cougars and the Hofstra Pride meet Monday in college basketball action from Hofstra Arena. Charleston is sitting at 16-13 overall this year. The Cougars lost to Drexel in their last game. As for Hofstra, they’re 20-10 on the season. The Pride beat William & Mary during their most recent outing. Charleston has had their ups and downs this year, but the team has managed to stay above .500 pretty well. The Cougars are just 2-3 in their last five games, though. The losses in that time were to James Madison, Towson and Drexel. 

Matched up against Drexel on Saturday, the Cougars were up 42-31 by the break. Charleston was outscored 37-49 in the second half however and lost 80-79. Dimitrius Underwood led the team on his 23 points with seven boards. 

Over on the Hofstra side, their year began on a rough 1-4 run but the team has straightened themselves out well since then. The Pride are on a 7-1 stretch in their last eight games. Hofstra took a loss to Elon but bounced back with a win over William & Mary. 

On Saturday in the William & Mary game, the Pride posted a 41-31 advantage in the first half and a 42-36 run from there in an 83-67 victory. Omar Silverio led the way on his 20 points and four rebounds during the win. 

Hofstra is 0-4 ATS in their last four Monday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. The Pride are 0-7 ATS in their last seven at home. 

Meanwhile, the Cougars are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-0 ATS in their last four overall. The over is 4-0 in Charleston’s last four road games.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Hofstra here. The Pride had a rough game versus Elon last Thursday, but otherwise they’ve done well during this 7-1 stretch. Hofstra has hit 73 or more points in all seven of those victories and should post a decent total in this one. 

The last time these teams met, Hofstra secured a 76-73 road victory on January 27. We should have another competitive game in the rematch, and I like the Pride to ultimately power out a cover in the familiar surroundings.
