Air Force vs South Dakota 12/6/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The South Dakota Coyotes and the Air Force Falcons meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Clune Arena. South Dakota enters this one at 5-4 overall. The Coyotes beat BYU in their last game. As for Air Force, they’re sitting at 5-4 as well after a loss to Portland State in their most recent appearance. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place. 

South Dakota kicked off the season on a 2-2 run with wins over Dakota State and Lipscomb. The Coyotes would then beat LIU and fall to Sam Houston and Coastal Carolina before another win over Mount Marty.  

On Saturday versus BYU, the Coyotes were up 40-25 by halftime. South Dakota had to scramble in the second half with a 43-29 deficit but still won 69-68. Kruz Perrott-Hunt was the top scorer with 26 points and one rebound. 

Over on the Air Force side, they lost three of their first four games to Bowling Green, Texas A&M-Commerce and Portland. The Falcons hit a four-game win streak after that, beating USC Upstate, MS Valley State, Montana and AR-Pine Bluff. 

On Saturday versus Portland State, Air Force’s win streak came to an end. The Falcons were down by one point at the break and didn’t get closer in a 68-64 loss. Leading scorer Rytis Petraitis posted 22 points with eight rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going with Air Force. This should be a pretty good matchup, though; you could make a case either way. That said, the Falcons are coming off a close loss to a decent Portland State team. Air Force shot 40 percent from the field in that one but weren’t so great (5-of-21) from 3-point range. As for South Dakota, they pulled off a nice win over BYU in their last outing but they’ve been pretty erratic over the last half-dozen games or so. If Air Force puts up a good points total here I think they’ll be okay.
