The Louisville Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks meet in college basketball action from the Lahaina Civic Center on Monday.
The Louisville Cardinals will still be looking for their first win of the year after a 61-60 loss to App State in their last game. El Ellis leads the Cardinals in scoring and assists with 24 PPG and 3.3 APG while Mike James has 11 PPG with 4.3 RPG and Jae’Lyn Withers has 10.7 PPG with 4.3 RPG. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield has 10.3 PPG with a team-high 8.7 RPG to lead the Cardinals on the glass and to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Louisville so far this season. As a team, Louisville is averaging 66 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field, 33.8% from three and 77.8% from the foul line this season.
The Arkansas Razorbacks will try to build on their 71-56 win over South Dakota State last time out. Ricky Council IV leads the Hogs in scoring and assists with 18.7 PPG and 3.7 APG while Trevon Brazile has 14 PPG with a team-high 10 RPG to lead the Razorbacks on the glass, averaging a double-double per game. Davonte Davis has 12.7 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Arkansas up to this point this season. As a team, Arkansas is averaging 73.7 PPG on 47% shooting from the field, 27.1% from three and 64.3% from the foul line this season.
Louisville is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a loss while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall. Arkansas is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall.
I get the case to be made either way in this one, but I’m looking at Arkansas in this game. This Louisville team has been an absolute disaster early on this season and I don’t see anything different here. Obviously, you’d like Arkansas more at home, but the Hogs are the far better team here and not much has gone right for Louisville this season. I’ll side with Arkansas in this one.
