Dayton vs Southeastern Louisiana 12/3/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Southeastern Louisiana Lions and the Dayton Flyers meet in college basketball action from the UD Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Southeastern Louisiana Lions will try to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their first eight games of the year after a 95-63 loss to Xavier last time out. Boogie Anderson leads the Lions in scoring and assists with 11.9 PPG and 3.8 APG while Roscoe Eastmond has 11.8 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Southeastern Louisiana up to this point in the season. Christian Agnew has 9.9 PPG and Sami Pissis has 9.7 PPG while Roger McFarlane has a team-high 8.1 RPG to lead the Lions on the glass this season. As a team, Southeastern Louisiana is averaging 75.8 PPG on 43.9% shooting from the field, 38.2% from three and 71.9% from the foul line this season.

The Dayton Flyers will try to build on their 67-47 win over Western Michigan last time out. DaRon Holmes II leads the Flyers in scoring with 15.5 PPG along with 6.6 RPG while Kobe Elvis has 10.1 PPG with 4 RPG and a team-high 3 APG to lead the Flyers in the assist department. Mustapha Amzil has 10.5 PPG with 5.1 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Dayton up to this point in the season. Toumani Camara also has 9.4 PPG to lead the Flyers on the glass this season. As a team, Dayton is averaging 63.4 points per game on 42.1% shooting from the field, 26% from three and 69.3% from the foul line this season.

Southeastern Louisiana is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss and 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games after allowing more than 90 points in the previous game. This is going to be an interesting clash of styles as Dayton’s defensive-minded while Southeastern Louisiana is usually more offense first. That being said, Dayton has played a fairly tough schedule to this point and maybe this game can provide a bit of a reprieve and help the Flyers wake up and build some steam after the win over Western Michigan. I’m just not in a position to back the Lions here. Give me Dayton by 20+.
