George Washington vs Seattle 12/25/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Seattle Redhawks and the George Washington Colonials meet Sunday in college basketball action from Stan Sheriff Center. Seattle is 8-4 overall this year. The Redhawks lost to Iona in their Friday game. As for George Washington, they’re 6-6 on the season and fresh off a loss to Pepperdine. Seattle has managed wins over UC San Diego, Puget Sound, Portland State, Portland, Pacific Lutheran, CSUF, North Dakota and Alcorn State. The losses otherwise have been to Washington, Oregon State, Utah State and Iona. 

In the Iona matchup on Friday, the Redhawks managed a 29-29 tie in the first half. Seattle fell behind 54-43 from there and lost 83-72, however. Cameron Tyson put up 27 points with four rebounds to lead the team in the defeat. 

Over on the George Washington side, their wins have come versus VA State, Howard, MD Eastern Shore, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Coppin State. The losses have been to Hofstra, UCSD, Radford, American, Washington State and Pepperdine. 

In Friday’s game versus Pepperdine, the Colonials took a 34-31 deficit into the break. George Washington didn’t end up getting any closer in an 81-70 loss. James Bishop led the scoring, posting 22 points with three assists. 

PICK: I might take a stab on Seattle here. The Redhawks didn’t play all that well in the Iona game on Friday (especially in the second half), shooting 29.3 percent from the field overall with 32-of-45 (71.1 percent) from the line. Seattle has a couple of duds on the scoreboard lately—58 or fewer points in two of their last four—so they’re going to need a big push in this one. George Washington has scored pretty well themselves in comparable matchups this year, but they’ll also give up quite a few points. I think the Redhawks can get it done if all goes well.
