The Miami-OH RedHawks and the Georgia Bulldogs meet Monday in college basketball action from Stegeman Coliseum. Miami-OH is 1-1 on the season. The RedHawks took a win over Goshen in their last outing. As for Georgia, they’re 1-1 as well and coming off a loss to Wake Forest. Miami-OH began their season with an opener matchup versus Evansville. The RedHawks trailed by four at the break and ended up with a 78-74 loss. Anderson Mirambeaux was the top team scorer with 27 points and eight rebounds.

In game two versus Goshen, the RedHawks had a tepid 26-21 lead by halftime. Miami-OH surged for 61 second-half points though, taking an 87-44 win. Julian Lewis (17 points; 10 boards) and Billy Smith (11 points; 12 rebounds) both doubled up.

Over on the Georgia side, they opened up the year versus Western Carolina. The Bulldogs were up by 15 points by halftime and were able to hang on for a 68-55 win. Kario Oquendo led the team on 18 points with two rebounds and two assists.

Georgia’s second game versus Wake Forest was much tougher, and it showed in the numbers. The Bulldogs were outpaced 41-22 in the first half, resulting in an 81-71 loss. Both Mardrez McBride and Terry Roberts posted 13 points apiece.

PICK: I’m probably still staying with Georgia. The Bulldogs faced a pretty good Wake Forest team in the last outing and were out-muscled in most facets. Georgia shot 41.9 percent in the tone with 29.6 percent from 3-point range and 57.9 percent (11-of-19) from the line. Miami-OH should provide a more comparable matchup for Georgia, and I like the Bulldogs to cover if they can find a good shooting rhythm.
