Villanova vs Pennsylvania 12/7/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Penn Quakers and the Villanova Wildcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from the Pavilion. Penn is 5-6 overall this year. The Quakers are coming off a loss to La Salle. Penn went just 1-3 over their first four games this year, losing to Iona, Missouri and Towson. The Quakers went 4-2 over the next six outings however, beating Lafayette, Colgate, Hartford, and Delaware along the way. 

Penn recorded another loss in their Saturday matchup versus La Salle. The Quakers were outscored 15-12 in overtime and lost 84-81. Leading scorer Jordan Dingle put up 37 points with five rebounds. 

Over on the Villanova side, they won two of their first three games over La Salle and Delaware State. The Wildcats hit a losing streak versus Michigan State, Iowa State, Portland and Oregon in the next four after that. 

Villanova managed to get another win on Saturday versus Oklahoma. The Wildcats outscored the Sooners 40-34 in the second half for a 70-66 victory. Caleb Daniels managed 22 points to lead the team, and Eric Dixon added 12 points. 

PICK: I’m staying with Villanova. The Wildcats have certainly had their ups and downs so far this year but they’re coming off a nice game versus Oklahoma. Villanova shot a scorching 56.8 percent from the field with 13-of-16 (81.3 percent) from the line in that win. The Wildcats have been scoring well lately with 67 or more points in five straight outings. 

As for Penn, they’ve scored 74 or more points in six straight games. The Quakers have also given up quite a bit of offense on the other side this year, so Villanova shouldn’t have any issues scoring.
