The Detroit Mercy Titans and the Washington State Cougars meet in college basketball action from Beasley Coliseum on Friday.
The Detroit Mercy Titans will look to build on their 70-49 win over Charlotte in their last game. Antoine Davis leads the Titans in scoring and assists with 24.4 PPG and 3.8 APG while Jayden Stone has 15.6 PPG with 5.4 RPG and Jordan Phillips has 12.8 PPG and 5.4 RPG of his own to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Detroit Mercy up to this point in the season. Arashma Parks also has a team-high 5.6 RPG to lead the Titans on the glass up to this point in the season. As a team, Detroit Mercy is averaging 76.7 PPG on 46.2% shooting from the field, 40.6% from three and 72% from the foul line this season.
The Washington State Cougars will be out to build on their 82-56 win over Eastern Washington last time out. TJ Bamba leads the Cougars in scoring with 15.5 PPG along with 5 RPG while Mouhamed Gueye has 12.8 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG to lead the Cougars on the glass this season. Jabe Mullins has 12.3 PPG with 4 RPG while Justin Powell has 11 PPG with 5.8 RPG and a team-high 5 APG to lead the Cougars in assists while also rounding out the group of double-digit scorers for Washington State so far this season. DJ Rodman also has 6.3 RPG as well for the Cougars this season. As a team, Washington State is averaging 71.3 PPG on 42.7% shooting from the field, 38.1% from three and 70.9% from the foul line this season.
Detroit Mercy is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Friday games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win by 20 or more points. Washington State is 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 home games against a team with a road winning percentage below .400 and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS win while the under is 13-5 in their last 18 road games.
I get the case to be made for either side in this game as I haven’t been impressed by Washington State, while Detroit Mercy can be very top-heavy with their production on offense. If Antoine Davis isn’t on then the Titans’ offense can struggle huge. I’m looking at the under here, as both teams have played to the under more often than not this season and the Cougars are still trying to win games with their defense. I think this is a first to 65 wins kind of game. Give me the under here.
