The Seton Hall Pirates will try to build on a 76-51 win over Butler last time out. Al-Amir Dawes leads the Pirates in scoring with 11 PPG along with 2.9 RPG while Tyrese Samuel has 11 PPG with a team-high 6.4 RPG to lead the Pirates in rebounding and to cap off the pair of double-digit scorers for Seton Hall this season. As a team, Seton Hall is averaging 69.8 points per game on 44.3% shooting from the field, 30.7% from behind the three point line and 67.4% from the foul line this season.
The Georgetown Hoyas will try to snap a seven-game losing skid after a 95-73 loss to Marquette in their last game. Primo Spears leads the Hoyas in scoring with 15.6 PPG along with 5.3 APG while Brandon Murray has 15 PPG and 3.6 APG this season. Qudus Wahab has 10.5 PPG with 7.6 RPG and Jay Heath has 13.4 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Georgetown up to this point in the year. Seton Hall is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS win while the over is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games overall. Georgetown is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games against a team with a losing road record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record.
I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but even at home, it’s hard to make a case for Georgetown with how pitiful they’ve been against conference opposition in recent years. Seton Hall on the other hand, I don’t trust to pick up a double-digit win on the road. I am going to side with the over though. The Hoyas have been brutal defensively all year long, but Seton Hall, despite hanging their hat on solid defense this year, hasn’t been anything special defensively on the road and I think both sides do enough to push us over the total here.
