Missouri vs Alabama Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/21/23

The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Missouri Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Mizzou Arena. Alabama is currently 16-2 overall. The Crimson Tide beat Vanderbilt in their last game. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama won five straight games before taking their first loss of the year to UConn on November 25. The Tide won four more, lost to Gonzaga, then beat Jackson State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Arkansas, LSU and Vanderbilt. 

In the Vanderbilt matchup on Tuesday, the Tide were up 36-26 at the break. Alabama hit a 42-40 run in the second half and won it 78-66. Leading scorer Brandon Miller doubled up on 30 points with 10 rebounds. 

Missouri Tigers 

Over on the Missouri side, they lost to only Kansas and Arkansas in their first 14 games. The Tigers are 2-2 since then with wins over Vanderbilt and Arkansas mixed with losses to Texas A&M and Florida. 

Matched up against Arkansas on Wednesday, the Tigers trailed by one point going into the second half. Missouri rallied on a 45-41 run and took the victory 79-76. Kobe Brown was the lead scorer with 17 points and six boards. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to take a stab on Missouri. We should have an interesting matchup here regardless, though. The Tigers are coming off a nice win over a talented Arkansas team, ultimately shooting 44.9 percent from the field. Missouri was out-rebounded 42-23 in that one but had just 12 turnovers to the Razorbacks’ 21. The Tigers have scored just 64 points in two of their last three games, so they’ll need to get the offense going in a hurry here. If Missouri can keep it close in the first half I think they’ve got a decent shot at powering out the cover. Alabama is a perfectly sensible play here as well, though.
