St. Bonaventure vs Dayton Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/4/23

The Dayton Flyers and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies meet Saturday in college basketball action from Reilly Center. Dayton is 15-8 so far this year. The Flyers beat Loyola IL in their last matchup on Tuesday. As for St. Bonaventure, they’re 12-11 on the season following a win over Richmond on Wednesday. Dayton Flyers 

Dayton kicked off their year on a pretty solid 11-5 clip through 16 games. The Flyers have gone 4-3 since then. The wins in that time were over Fordham, Davidson, Richmond and Loyola IL; the losses came to VCU, George Washington and Rhode Island. 

In the Loyola IL game on Tuesday, the Flyers scored 40 points in the first half, 32 in the second and 13 in overtime for an 85-81 victory. Leading scorer Toumani Camara put up 31 points with nine rebounds in the win. 

St. Bonaventure Bonnies 

Over on the St. Bonaventure side, they managed a .500 run through their first 16 games at 8-8 overall. The Bonnies have since gone 4-3 with wins over Richmond, Duquesne, VCU and Richmond again. 

In the Wednesday rematch versus Richmond, the Bonnies took a 31-26 edge into halftime. St. Bonaventure posted a 36-35 deficit in the second and hung on for the 66-62 win. Yann Farell was the high man on 18 points. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with Dayton here. The Flyers got into some trouble against a struggling Loyola IL team in their last matchup, but to their credit Dayton pulled off the win. In their last five games, the Flyers have hit 68 or more points each time and should put up a solid total here as well. As for St. Bonaventure, they’ve been a mixed bag lately and haven’t hit more than 68 points in five straight games. If the Bonnies don’t get off to a good start here I don’t think they’ll keep the cover pace.
