TCU Horned Frogs
The Horned Frogs got off to a pretty good start this year, going 16-4 through 20 games. TCU managed a rough 2-6 stretch in the net eight games though, falling to Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Baylor, Iowa State and Kansas in that time.
In the Kansas game on Monday, the Frogs went into halftime with a 33-29 deficit. TCU didn’t end up getting any closer on a 30-29 second half and lost 63-58. Mike Miles was the top team scorer with 13 points and four rebounds.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Over on the Texas Tech side, their first 20 games were a .500 run at 10-10 overall. The Raiders have been better since then on a 6-2 stretch with wins over LSU, Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas, West Virginia and Oklahoma mixed with losses to Baylor and Oklahoma State.
Matched up against Oklahoma on Tuesday, the Red Raiders went into the second half ahead 33-31. Texas Tech posted a 41-32 run the rest of the way and won it 74-63. Fardaws Aimaq was the team’s leading scorer on 19 points and 10 rebounds.

I’m going to stick with Texas Tech in this one. The Red Raiders have really come into form over the last eight games. Texas Tech has won four straight, including wins over Kansas State and Texas (both at home). The Raiders are turning into a dangerous team late in the season, and they’ve got some extra motivation for this one. These teams last met on New Year’s Eve at Schollmaier Arena in a 67-61 TCU victory. The Horned Frogs needed a 41-24 second-half comeback to pull that one off, so with home court this time I like Texas Tech to bag a revenge cover. Should be another fun game.
