The Citadel vs Wofford Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/18/23

The Wofford Terriers and the Citadel Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from McAlister Field House. Wofford played Mercer in their last game on Wednesday. The Terriers would go on to win by three points. As for the Citadel, they’re fresh off a Wednesday matchup versus Furman. In that one the Bulldogs powered out a four-point victory. Wofford Terriers

Wofford posted mixed results over their first 20 games this year, posting an 11-9 overall run. In the next seven outings the Terriers went just 2-5, falling to Furman, East Tennessee State, Furman again, Western Carolina and UNC Greensboro. 

Matched up against Mercer on Wednesday, the Terriers were down 31-29 going into the second half. Wofford came back with a 41-36 run from there and won 70-67. BJ Mack led the team with his 22 points and four rebounds.

The Citadel Bulldogs 

Over on the Citadel side, they were sitting at 8-12 at the 20-game mark this year. The Bulldogs would win just one of their next seven outings, falling to Mercer, Chicago State, VMI, UNC Greensboro, Chattanooga and Samford in succession. 

On Wednesday versus Furman, the Citadel took a 36-34 deficit into the locker room. The Bulldogs hit a 35-29 second-half run and took the comeback win 69-65. Stephen Clark scored 21 points and Brady Spence added 10 points with 12 rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m going to take a stab on Wofford here. This should be a pretty good matchup though, so you could make a solid case either way. The Terriers are a sketchy 1-4 over their last five outings, however they’ve scored 67 or more points in four straight. The last time these teams saw each other was back on January 7 in a 77-57 Wofford win at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. I don’t expect this rematch to be so easy for Wofford, but I still think they can cover/win if the team continues their scoring pace.
