Abilene Christian vs Seattle 1/20/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Seattle Redhawks and the Abilene Christian Wildcats meet Thursday in college basketball action from Teague Special Events Center. Seattle enters this game at 13-4 overall. The Redhawks beat California Baptist in their last game. As for Abilene Christian, they’re sitting at 11-6 and coming off a loss to New Mexico State. Seattle got off to an 8-4 start this year over their first dozen. The losses came to Washington State, VMI, UNLV and Washington. Since then it’s been wins over Northwest U, Chicago State, Utah Valley, Dixie State and Cal Baptist. 

In the California Baptist matchup, the Redhawks were down 41-33 at halftime and had to scramble in the second half to force overtime. After the extra period, Seattle ended up with a 92-85 win. Darrion Trammell led the way on 25 points and six rebounds. 

Over on the Abilene side, they lost their first two games of the year, then hit a nice 11-game win streak that lasted into the new calendar year. The last four games have all been losses to Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston, Grand Canyon and New Mexico State. 

Back on Saturday in the New Mexico State matchup, the Wildcats were outscored 28-24 in the first half and 49-39 in the second for a 77-63 loss. Leading the way was Coryon Mason with 19 points and three rebounds to his credit. 

The Wildcats are 23-7 ATS in their last 30 at home and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall. The under is 4-1 Abilene Christian’s last five overall. 

Meanwhile, the Redhawks are 5-1 ATS in the last six Thursday games and 3-0-1 ATS in the last four overall. The under is 12-4-1 in Seattle’s last 17 overall. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Seattle. The Redhawks had a spotty run going back in December, but over the last five games they’ve really turned it around. Seattle has hit 71 or more points in each of those games and won each by six points or more. As for Abilene Christian, they’ve struggled to score lately with 68 or fewer points in each of their last five. If Seattle starts out hot in this one, it’s going to be hard for the Wildcats to stay too far in front.
