Air Force vs New Mexico Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/10/23

The New Mexico Lobos and the Air Force Falcons meet Friday in college basketball action from Clune Arena. New Mexico is 19-5 so far this season. The Lobos lost to Nevada in their last game. New Mexico Lobos 

New Mexico won 12 straight to start off the year, then fell in consecutive outings to Fresno State and UNLV. The Lobos are 5-3 in their last eight games, beating Oral Roberts, San Diego State, San Jose State, Boise State and Air Force. 

In the Nevada game on Tuesday, the Lobos took a 45-41 deficit into the break. New Mexico hit a 35-32 run from there but ended up losing 77-76. Jamal Mashburn Jr. led the team on 21 points and six assists in the defeat. 

Air Force Falcons 

Over on the Air Force side, they went a sketchy 9-7 over their first 16 games this year. The Falcons won three straight from there, then fell to San Diego State, San Jose State, New Mexico, Boise State, Nevada and Colorado State in succession. 

Back on Tuesday versus Colorado State, the Falcons were behind 32-26 by halftime. Air Force posted a 37-27 deficit from there and ended up losing 69-53. Both Beau Becker and Jake Heidbreder posted 13 points apiece to lead the team. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll stay with New Mexico in this one. The Lobos are coming off a tough-luck loss to Nevada. They’ve now lost consecutive games and three of their last four. The lone win in that time was over Air Force at the Pit on January 27. New Mexico scored 43 points in the first half there on the way to an 81-73 victory. As for Air Force, they’ve gone limp on offense over this six-game losing streak. The Falcons have 60 or fewer points in five of those losses, and 53 or fewer in three straight. If New Mexico plays well, I don’t see Air Force keeping pace here.
