Air Force vs Tarleton State 12/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Tarleton State Texans and the Air Force Falcons meet Sunday in college basketball action from Clune Arena. Tarleton State comes into this one at 5-5 overall. The Texans lost to UCF in their last game. As for Air Force, they’re 7-4 on the season and fresh off a win over Arkansas State. Tarleton State has wins over Kansas CC, Belmont, Boston College, Weber State and Wiley this year. Otherwise the losses have come to Arizona State, Drake, Wichita State, Baylor and UCF for a 5-5 record overall. 

In the UCF matchup last Sunday, the Texans were within three points at halftime. Tarleton State was drilled 45-22 in the second half and ended up losing 75-49. Shakur Daniel put up 15 points as the lone double-digit scorer. 

Over on the Air Force side, they went 1-3 in their first four games before hitting a win streak over USC Upstate, MS Valley State, Montana and AR-Pine Bluff. The Falcons would then lose to Portland State and beat South Dakota. 

Air Force made it consecutive wins with last Friday’s matchup versus Arkansas State. The Falcons scored 44 points in the first half and cruised to an 80-55 win. Jake Heidbreder led the way on 16 points in 23 minutes. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Air Force. The Falcons did a great job against an overmatched Arkansas State team in their last outing. Air Force has hit 79 or more points in three of their last four games and should be able to post a decent total in this one as well. As for Tarleton State, they were beaten up by a good UCF team in their last outing. The Texans have scored just 106 combined points in their last two games against stiff competition but they should look better in this one. I still think Air Force covers, though.
