The Florida A&M Rattlers and the Akron Zips meet Sunday in college basketball action from James A. Rhodes Arena. Florida A&M is 2-5 this year. The Rattlers lost to Florida Gulf Coast in their last game. As for the Zips, they’re 5-3 and coming off a win over Southern U. Florida A&M stumbled out of the gate at 1-4, losing to Kansas State, Miami-FL, UTEP and UC Riverside along the way. The Rattlers then picked up a win over Fort Valley State but lost to Florida Gulf Coast in their last outing.
In the Florida Gulf Coast game, the Rattlers were blown out 42-28 in the first half and couldn’t make up any ground in a 69-55 loss. Bryce Moragne was the leading team scorer with 13 points, nine rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Akron side, their year began at 2-3, featuring losses to Ohio State, Fordham and Appalachian State in that stretch. The Zips have since won three straight over Evansville, Marshall and Southern U.

Akron has hit 69 or more points in each of those outings, and they played well against Southern U in their last game. Florida A&M should be a manageable opponent, so if Akron plays like they’re capable of playing they should be fine.
