Akron vs LSU 11/22/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The LSU Tigers and the Akron Zips meet Tuesday in college basketball action from John Gray Gymnasium. LSU is 4-0 so far this year and coming off a win over Illinois State. LSU has gotten off to a nice start with four straight wins so far. The first came in the opener versus UMKC 74-63, then in game two the Tigers took out Arkansas State 61-52. Game three was another win, this time 91-62 over New Orleans. 

In the Monday matchup versus Illinois State, LSU kept their streak going. The Tigers had a 45-18 lead by halftime and took the 77-61 victory. KJ Williams topped the team with 33 points and eight assists, while Adam Miller posted 13 points. 

Over on the Akron side, they were able to eke out a close win 81-80 over South Dakota State in their 2022-23 opener. The Zips took a 73-54 loss to Mississippi State in game two, but were able to bounce back with a 65-59 win over Morgan State last Tuesday. 

In Monday’s game versus Western Kentucky, the Zips had a modest 32-30 lead by the break. Akron exploded for a 40-23 run the rest of the way in a 72-53 victory. Tops in scoring was Enrique Freeman with 18 points and 11 rebounds. 

PICK: I’ll probably take a stab on Akron here. The Zips put on a show in the Monday game against Western Kentucky, logging 56.3 percent shooting from the field with 43 rebounds and 10 team assists. It was a pretty dominant effort, especially in the second half. As for LSU, they’re coming off a nice effort in their win over Illinois State. The Tigers shot 49.1 percent from the field with 35 rebounds and 17 assists. This one should be a pretty fun and competitive matchup, all things considered. I think Akron can get into a cover, though.
