Alabama A&M vs Samford 11/17/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Samford Bulldogs and the Alabama A&M Bulldogs meet Thursday in college basketball action from Elmore Gymnasium. Samford is 3-0 on the year and coming off a win over Belhaven. Samford has had three very manageable games thus far, and they’ve taken care of business. The Bulldogs got past Anderson (SC) 109-85 in their first game of the season. Another big win 80-61 over Spring Hill College came in game two. 

For their third outing of the year, Samford took on Belhaven. The Bulldogs scored 45 points in each half on the way to a dominant 90-38 victory. Jermaine Marshall led the team on 15 points, and Logan Dye added 14 points with four boards. 

Over on the Alabama A&M side, their campaign began with a matchup versus North Alabama. The Bulldogs trailed 35-26 after the first half and ended up with a loss 84-76. Garrett Hicks topped the team with 18 points and four rebounds. 

In game two versus Tennessee State, it was more of the same for Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs posted 35 points in the first half and 41 more from there in an 87-76 loss. Hicks posted 20 points, and Dailin Smith managed 23 points in 22 minutes of work. 

PICK: I’m probably sticking with Samford. The Bulldogs have had three pretty easy matchups so far, but to their credit Samford has responded with three big wins. Samford shot a hot 54.5 percent from the field with 43 rebounds against an overwhelmed Belhaven in their last outing. All of that said, Alabama A&M will put up more of a fight than the other three teams Samford has faced. I still like Samford to cover by game’s end, though.
