The USC Trojans and the Alabama State Hornets meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Dunn-Oliver Acadome. USC is sitting at .500 through 10 games so far, and they’ve lost three straight. The Trojans most recently fell to Auburn on Sunday. As for Alabama State, they’re currently 4-5 this season after a loss to LSU last week. Let’s get into our USC vs. Alabama State prediction. USC Trojans 

The Trojans started out the year on a pretty solid 5-2 stretch. The only losses in that time came to UC Irvine and Oklahoma. Otherwise USC beat Kansas State, CSU Bakersfield, Brown, Seton Hall and Eastern Washington. In the next pair, the Trojans would fall to Gonzaga and Long Beach State, however. 

USC’s losing streak extended to three games with a loss to Auburn on Sunday. In that matchup the Trojans were down 49-35 by halftime and didn’t end up getting any closer in a 91-75 result. Leading the team was Boogie Ellis with 22 points, five rebounds and three assists. Oziyah Sellers added 13 points off the bench as well. 

Alabama State Hornets 

Over on the Alabama State side, they skidded to a 1-4 start in their first five outings. Besides a blowout win over Oglethorpe, the Hornets lost to Ole Miss, Iowa, Memphis and Samford in that stretch. Alabama State would hit a three-game win streak over North Carolina A&T, Merrimack and Mississippi University for Women after that. 

The Hornets had a 34-30 edge on LSU at halftime in their latest outing. Alabama State wasn’t able to hang on however, getting drilled 44-22 the rest of the way in a 74-56 loss. Tops in scoring was TJ Madlock with 18 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal. 

ANDREW’S FREE USC VS ALABAMA STATE PREDICTION 

I’ll probably just stay with USC in this one. Probably also not touching it, though. The Trojans aren’t inspiring a lot of confidence these days, but to be fair they should be in control here. USC is coming off a sketchy 40 percent shooting with 15 turnovers versus Auburn in their last game. The rebounding wasn’t too bad, though (38). The Trojans have scored 70 or more points in seven straight outings and shouldn’t have too many issues hanging a good total in Tuesday’s game either.
