Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview

The Alabama Crimson Tide are 4-1 this year after they defeated Illinois by a score of 100-87 in their last game. Alabama led 52-38 at the half and they were able to get the win, despite allowing 49 points in the second half. The Crimson Tide shot 52% from the field, 32.4% on three-pointers, and 84.6% on free throws in the game. Grant Nelson led Alabama with 23 points and eight rebounds in the game.

Prior to that win, the Crimson Tide lost to Purdue by a score of 87-78 but did win their first three games of the season. Grant Nelson is averaging 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, while Alabama is shooting 49% from the field, 71.4% on free throws, and 30.8% on three-pointers this year.

Houston Cougars Betting Preview

The Houston Cougars are 3-1 this season after they defeated Hofstra by a score of 80-44 in their last game. Houston led 48-18 at the half and held Hofstra to just 26 points in the second half for the easy win. The Cougars shot 46.8% from the field, 50% on three-pointers, and 62.5% on free throws in the game. Emanuel Sharp led Houston with 16 points and two assists in the victory.

Prior to that win, the Cougars defeated Louisiana by a score of 91-45 but did lose to Auburn by a score of 74-69 before that. Houston has scored 84.3 points per game and they have allowed 50.8 points per game, while also averaging 39.3 rebounds and 14.8 assists per game this season. Emanuel Sharp is averaging 11.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, while Houston is shooting 48.2% from the field, 72.2% on free throws, and 48.8% on three-pointers this year. Houston will face Notre Dame after this game.

Why Alabama will beat Houston

  • Alabama has won eight of its last nine day games played at neutral venues.
  • Houston has lost five of its last six games against AP-ranked opponents at a neutral venue.
  • Alabama has won the first half in each of its last nine day games played at neutral venues.

Alabama vs Houston Prediction

These two teams come into this matchup ranked in the top 10 so far this season, but they both have one loss. Houston lost to Auburn in their second game of the season, while Alabama lost to Purdue on the road two games ago. Both of these teams are very good on the offensive end of the floor, but Houston is the better defensive team. This should be a great game to watch and I think either team could win, so I will take the points with the Crimson Tide.
