The LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide meet Saturday in college basketball action from Coleman Coliseum. LSU is coming off a win over Georgia that dropped the Tigers to 11-8 overall. As for Alabama, they’re 13-6 this year and fresh off a big win over Auburn. Let’s get into our LSU vs. Alabama prediction. LSU Tigers

The Tigers only managed a 6-5 run over their first 11 games this year. The Tigers would then win five of their next six outings however, taking out Lamar, Northwestern State, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss in that time. Since then it’s been losses to Texas A&M and Georgia, though.

In the Georgia game on Wednesday, the Tigers went into the second half down by two points. LSU kept the pace on 33 more points from there in a 68-66 loss. Jalen Cook was the team’s top scorer in the losing effort with 21 points, four steals, three assists and three rebounds.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Over on the Alabama side, they also went a sketchy 6-5 over their first 11 games. The Tide straightened out with wins over Eastern Kentucky, Liberty, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Missouri in the next six, lost to Tennessee then beat Auburn.

In their rivalry matchup with Auburn on Wednesday, the Tide jumped out to a nice 44-30 edge by halftime. Alabama was outscored 45-35 in the second half but held on for the upset win 79-75. Mark Sears led the charge with his 22 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three steals.

ANDREW’S FREE LSU VS ALABAMA PREDICTION

I’ll stay with Alabama. The Tide are coming off a great effort versus Auburn (despite a slower finish) in their latest win. Alabama shot a sketchy 38.2 percent from the field with 14 turnovers in that one but also managed a 46-41 rebounding advantage and hit 16 of their 19 free throws (84.2 percent). That makes 71 or more points in every game so far this year for the Tide.

As for LSU, they’ve been below 70 points in consecutive games and have had some difficulties navigating this tricky part of the schedule. This one’s not going to get much easier, and I like the Tide to keep rolling for a cover.

Andrew's Free Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide -13.5
