The UMass-Lowell River Hawks and the Albany Great Danes meet in college basketball action from the SEFCU Arena on Wednesday night.

The UMass-Lowell River Hawks will look to add to a 66-64 win over UMBC in their last game. Kalil Thomas leads the River Hawks in scoring with 11.2 PPG along with 4.4 RPG and 2.2 APG while Everette Hammond has 10.6 PPG with 3.5 RPG and Max Brooks has 10.3 PPG with a team-high 6.2 RPG to lead the River Hawks on the glass and to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for UMass-Lowell so far this season. Ayinde Hikim and Justin Faison each have 9.1 PPG with Faison logging a team-high 2.7 APG to lead the River Hawks in assists and Allin Blunt has 8.9 PPG as well this season for UMass-Lowell. As a team, UMass-Lowell is averaging 73.3 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field, 29.7% from three and 70.1% from the foul line while allowing 63.3 PPG on 39.1% shooting from the field and 33.2% from three this season.

The Albany Great Danes will try to bounce back from a 64-62 loss to New Hampshire in their last game. De’Vondre Perry has a team-high 13.6 PPG and 5.2 RPG as the lone Albany player to score in double figures for Albany so far this season while Matt Cerruti has 9 PPG and Jamel Horton has 9.5 PPG and a team-high 3.8 APG to lead the Great Danes in the assist department this season. Justin Neely also has a team-high 6 RPG to lead the Great Danes on the glass this season. As a team, Albany is averaging 60.4 PPG on 40.2% shooting from the field, 30% from three and 69.7% from the foul line while allowing 68.4 PPG on 44.3% shooting from the field and 36.5% from three this season.

UMass-Lowell is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a win while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Albany is 17-37 ATS in their last 54 home games and 5-13-1 ATS in their last 19 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a loss.

I get why you’d look Albany’s way at home as home court tends to hold some bearing when capping these games. However, home court hasn’t meant much for Albany this season, as they’re 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS at home this season. UMass-Lowell’s had their ups and downs, but the River Hawks have performed well on the road this season and I think they shut down the ineffective Albany offense on the way to a road win and cover here.
