AR-Little Rock vs Central Arkansas 12/20/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Central Arkansas Bears and the Little Rock Trojans meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Jack Stephens Center. Central Arkansas is 5-6 overall this year. The Bears lost to Oklahoma in their last game. As for Little Rock, they’re 3-8 on the season after a loss to Jacksonville State. Central Arkansas has wins over Hendrix, Little Rock, Rider, Idaho State and Arkansas State so far.  The Bears have lost otherwise to Wichita State, Niagara, Northwestern State, Loyola IL, Oral Roberts and Oklahoma. 

In the Oklahoma game on Saturday, the Bears were drilled 52-30 in the first half. Central Arkansas held a 36-35 advantage in the second but still lost 87-66. Camren Hunter posted 18 points with seven rebounds. 

Over on the Little Rock side, they’ve got wins over AR Baptist, Jackson State and Philander Smith. The losses have come to Southern IL, Central AR, East Tennessee State, Indiana, Miami-OH, San Francisco, Memphis and Jacksonville State. 

Matched up against the Gamecocks on Saturday, the Trojans were outscored 30-23 in the first half. Little Rock couldn’t close the gap and ended up losing 72-62. Myron Gardner was the top team scorer with 20 points. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Central Arkansas. There’s not a ton of intrigue in this matchup, however it has the potential to be a competitive game. (For what it’s worth, the last time these teams met up (November 14), the Bears took an 82-71 win at Farris Center.) The Bears had hit 70 or more points in four straight games (going 2-2) before the 21-point loss to a pretty good Oklahoma team. Central Arkansas has coughed up some pretty big points totals this year, which is good news for Little Rock. The Trojans have hit 67 or more points in nine of their last 10 outings. I like this one to be close most of the way with the Bears eking out a late cover. Not touching it, though.
