AR-Pine Bluff vs Jackson State 2/7/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Jackson State Tigers and the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions meet Monday in college basketball action from H.O. Clemmons Arena. Jackson State is 5-16 so far this year. The Tigers beat MS Valley State in their last game. As for AR-Pine Bluff, they’re 5-18 on the season and fell to Alcorn State in their last matchup. Jackson State hasn’t had much luck so far this year, and they’ve only won consecutive games once. After a recent losing streak versus Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, Grambling and Southern U, the Tigers picked up a win over MS Valley State. 

In the Saturday matchup versus the Delta Devils, Jackson State was down by three at halftime. The Tigers posted a 43-36 run from there in a 69-65 win. Terence Lewis doubled up with 28 points and 10 boards, and Jamarcus Jones added 11 points with 12 rebounds. 

Over on the AR-Pine Bluff side, they’re in the same inconsistency boat this year; the Lions haven’t won consecutive games yet. It’s been a 1-3 run over the last quartet with losses to Southern U, Grambling and Alcorn State.

Matched up against the Braves on Saturday, the Golden Lions posted a 24-29 deficit in the first half. AR-Pine Bluff scored 40 from there but still lost 70-64. Dequan Morris was the team’s top scorer on 20 points with six boards and two assists. 

The Lions are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 at home and 1-4 ATS in their last five Monday games. The under is 16-5 in ARPB’s last 21 Monday games. 

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games and 0-5 ATS in their last five overall. The under is 7-3 in Jackson State’s last 10 road games.

PICK: I’m going to try Jackson State, but I’m not going near this one. There’s not much to get excited about here when you consider each team’s record. The Tigers are going to need to get their offense going in order to pull off a cover here; they’ve been below 70 points in each of their last six games. AR-Pine Bluff hasn’t scored well lately themselves either, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a competitive game and a high total here.
