The Little Rock Trojans and the Arkansas Razorbacks meet Friday in college basketball action from Bud Walton Arena. Here’s an Arkansas vs Little Rock prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Arkansas vs Little Rock pick.

Little Rock Trojans Betting Preview

Little Rock opened the season with a big victory 84-64 versus Arkansas Baptist, but the next two games were losses 82-67 versus Winthrop and 80-63 against Arkansas State. The Trojans took out UTSA 81-64 in game four, though.

On Wednesday versus Tulsa, the Trojans were in trouble with a 25-20 deficit by the break. Little Rock roared back on a 51-32 stretch from there, however, and won 71-57. Johnathan Lawson topped the team with 23 points and seven rebounds.

Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

Over on the Arkansas side, they also opened their year with a sizable win, taking out Lipscomb 76-60. The Razorbacks couldn’t handle Baylor in game two though, falling 72-67 before another win 65-49 against Troy.

On Monday against Pacific, the Razorbacks posted another blowout victory. Arkansas was up 44-37 going into the second half and scored another 47 points from there in a 91-72 win. Adou Thiero topped the team with 23 points and six rebounds.

Why the Arkansas Razorbacks will win

  • Arkansas has won 45 of its last 46 games against non-conference opponents at Bud Walton Arena.
  • Little Rock has lost 14 of its last 15 road night games against non-conference opponents.
  • Little Rock has lost the first half in each of its last six games against AP-ranked opponents.

Why the Little Rock Trojans will win

  • Little Rock has won each of its last six games following a road win.
  • Arkansas has lost four of its last five games at Bud Walton Arena following a home win.

Arkansas vs Little Rock Prediction

I’ll probably lean toward Arkansas, even though the line is a little hefty. The Razorbacks shot quite well in their win over Pacific, hitting 59.6 percent from the floor, 42.9 percent (9-of-21) from 3-point range, and 20-of-25 (80 percent) from the line alongside 30 rebounds and 17 team assists. Arkansas did have 15 turnovers, though. The Razorbacks have been at 67 points or fewer in two of four games this year, so I’d like to see a big total here in a matchup they should dominate wire to wire.

As for Little Rock, on Wednesday they overcame a slow start versus Tulsa to eventually shoot 46.4 percent from the field with a 35-30 rebounding advantage and 13 team assists. It was a nice win for the Trojans, but the competition is obviously going to ramp up significantly on Friday.
