The LSU Tigers and the Arkansas Razorbacks meet in college basketball action from the Bud Walton Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The LSU Tigers will be looking to rebound after a 91-78 loss to Georgia last time out. Cameron Thomas leads LSU in scoring with 22.7 PPG while Trendon Watford has 16.2 PPG with 7.1 RPG and 3.2 APG and Ja’Vonte Smart has 16.2 PPG with a team-high 4.2 APG to lead the Tigers in assists on the year. Darius Days has 12.3 PPG with a team-high 7.6 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for LSU up to this point in the season. As a team, LSU is averaging 82.9 PPG on 47.1% shooting from the field, 34.6% from 3-point land and 75.1% from the foul line while allowing 75.2 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field and 30.1% from 3-point range this season.
The Arkansas Razorbacks will be out to build on an 81-66 win over Alabama last time out. Moses Moody leads the Hogs in scoring with 16.5 PPG with 5.6 RPG while JD Notae has 12.5 PPG and Justin Smith has 11.7 PPG with a team-high 6.7 RPG to lead the Razorbacks on the glass this season. Jalen Tate has 11.2 PPG with a team-high 4.3 APG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Arkansas this season by also leading the Razorbacks in assists. Desi Sills has 9.2 PPG and Connor Vanover also has 7.7 PPG with 5.3 RPG this year. As a team, Arkansas is averaging 82.4 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field, 33.7% from 3-point range and 73.8% from the foul line while allowing 70 PPG on 41.3% shooting from the field and 31.8% from 3-point land this season.
LSU is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. Arkansas is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games while the over is 30-11-1 in their last 42 games overall.
The points with LSU are tempting considering the flashes of potential we have seen from the Tigers at times this season. However, Arkansas has been much more consistent and are playing at a higher level with less than what LSU has and had going for them early on in the season. I just think at home, the Razorbacks show up in full force again so I’ll lay it and play it with the Hogs here.
