The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Arkansas Razorbacks meet in college basketball action from the Bud Walton Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will try to snap a four-game losing skid after a 72-62 loss to Oklahoma last time out. Taz Sherman leads WVU in scoring and assists with 18.5 PPG and 2.6 APG while Sean McNeil has 13.6 PPG to make up the duo of double-digit scorers for WVU so far this season. Jalen Bridges also has 8.8 PPG and 5.5 RPG while Gabe Osabuohien has 5.7 RPG to lead the Mountaineers on the glass. As a team, West Virginia is averaging 68.4 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field, 31.3% from three and 68.9% from the foul line while allowing 64.8 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the field and 31.5% from three this season.

The Arkansas Razorbacks will try to add to their current five-game winning streak after a 64-55 win over Ole Miss last time out. JD Notae leads the Hogs in scoring with 18.9 PPG along with 4.6 RPG and 3.5 APG while Au’Diese Toney has 10.7 PPG with 5.4 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Arkansas up to this point in the season. Stanley Umude has 9.9 PPG and Chris Lykes has 9.6 PPG while Davonte Davis has 9.3 PPG with a team-high 3.6 APG to lead the Hogs in the assist department this season. Jaylin Williams also leads Arkansas with a team-high 8.9 RPG and 3.2 APG as well this season. As a team, Arkansas is averaging 78.4 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field, 29.8% from three and 74.1% from the foul line while allowing 68.4 PPG on 41.7% shooting from the field and 34.2% from three this season.

West Virginia is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a loss while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 Saturday games. Arkansas is 1-9 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.

I get the case to be made either way here as West Virginia’s a solid team, but the Mountaineers have hit a slide and West Virginia isn’t the same team on the road that they are at home. Arkansas has lost a bit of lustre from last year’s team, but this Razorbacks team is still talented and has been solid at home, especially as of late where they’ve won five in a row. I’ll side with the Hogs at home in this one laying the points.
