The Holy Cross Crusaders and the Army Black Knights meet Tuesday in Patriot League Tournament college basketball action from Christl Arena. Holy Cross is 9-22 so far. The Crusaders lost to Boston U in their last outing. As for Army, they’re 10-21 after a loss to Loyola Maryland. Let’s get into our Holy Cross vs. Army prediction. Holy Cross Crusaders

The Crusaders managed an 8-17 run over their first 25 games of the year. Holy Cross has struggled since then, notching just one win (over Bucknell) in six games. The five losses in that time were versus Colgate, Army, Navy, Colgate again and Boston University.

In their latest outing versus Boston U back on Saturday, the Crusaders were drilled 53-36 in the first half alone. Holy Cross got slightly better from there on a 48-41 run but took the loss 94-84 in the end. Leading team scorer Will Batchelder put up 20 points with two rebounds.

Army Black Knights

Over on the Army side, they were 6-17 to start the year. After that came a nice win streak over Lehigh, Navy, Boston U and Holy Cross in February. The Black Knights have since lost four straight games versus Lehigh, Bucknell, American and Loyola Maryland, however.

Matched up against Loyola Maryland over the weekend, the Black Knights came out of halftime with a 31-29 deficit. Army posted a 39-38 run the rest of the way and took a tough loss 69-68. Ryan Curry came off the bench to lead the team on 20 points with four assists and three rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE HOLY CROSS VS ARMY PREDICTION

I’ll stick with Army. Probably not touching this one, though; there’s not much to get excited about. The Black Knights are fresh off a tough loss to Loyola MD, shooting just 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the line with 13 turnovers leading to 17 Greyhounds points. Army hasn’t been scoring well this year; they’ve been below 70 points in 16 straight games.

The good news for Army is that they won both meetings between these teams this year: 70-57 at home on January 6 and 59-53 on the road on February 17. Neither team shot well in that last game (both under 40.9 percent), so this rematch may not be pretty. I’m leaning toward Army cover-wise but probably staying away.

Andrew's Free Pick: Army Black Knights -4.5
