The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks and the Austin Peay Governors meet Thursday in college basketball action from Dunn Center. TN-Martin sits at 4-8 so far. The Skyhawks are coming off a loss to Drake. TN-Martin managed to go 3-3 over their first six games, then hit a losing streak versus Western KY, Middle Tennessee, Western IL and Middle Tennessee. The Skyhawks then beat UNC Asheville before a loss to Drake.
In the Drake matchup, TN-Martin scored just 25 points in the first half and 29 more from there in an 80-54 defeat. The only double-digit scorer on the team was KJ Simon with 13 points, one rebound and one assist in 24 minutes.
Over on the Austin Peay side, they went 3-3 in their first six games as well with wins over UT Southern, Dayton and Howard. The Governors beat Milligan then fell to North Florida, South Florida and Vanderbilt.

PICK: I’m going to try Austin Peay, but staying away. There’s not much to like here. The Governors are on a 1-4 stretch right now, and they’ve hit only 51 points in three of those five games. Austin Peay can score when the matchup is right however, so they should find some opportunities here.
As for TN-Martin, they’re coming off a bad offensive game but I like them to bounce back with a better effort here. Should be an interesting matchup if nothing else.
