The Abilene Christian Wildcats and the Baylor Bears meet Monday in college basketball action from Foster Pavilion. Here’s a Baylor vs Abilene Christian prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Baylor vs Abilene Christian pick.
Abilene Christian Wildcats Betting Preview
The Wildcats managed a 4-3 run over their first seven games this year. The wins in that time were over Howard Payne, McMurry, Texas State, and Southern Miss. Since then it’s been two more wins versus Omaha and New Mexico State.
In the New Mexico State game on Wednesday, the Wildcats came out of the first half with a three-point deficit. Abilene Christian hit a 51-40 run the rest of the way and won 78-70, however. Hunter Jack Madden led the team with 24 points and three rebounds.
Baylor Bears Betting Preview
Over on the Baylor side, they won four of their first five games versus Arkansas, Sam Houston, Tarleton State, and St. John’s. Since then it’s been a 1-2 run with losses to Tennessee and UConn around a win over New Orleans.
In the UConn game on Wednesday, the Bears held a slim one-point lead in the locker room. Baylor was outscored 40-35 in the second for a 76-72 loss. Coming off the bench to lead the team in scoring was Robert Wright with 22 points and four assists. Baylor will take on Norfolk State after this one.
Why the Baylor Bears will win

- Baylor has won the first half in 13 of its last 14 Monday games against non-conference opponents.
Why the Abilene Christian Wildcats will win
- Abilene Christian has won three of its last four games.
Baylor vs Abilene Christian Prediction
I’ll take a stab at Abilene Christian here. The Wildcats shook off a relatively slow start versus New Mexico State in their last outing, ultimately hitting a nice 51.1 percent shooting and a 29-25 rebounding edge. Abilene Christian has 71 or more points in seven of their nine games so far, but it’ll take a big offensive push to keep up with Baylor here.
Speaking of the Bears, they lost a tough one to an erratic UConn team on Wednesday. Baylor missed seven of their 19 free throws (63.2 percent) and had 10 turnovers in that one but didn’t play too badly overall otherwise. The Bears have scored 72 or more points in six of their last seven, so we should see a high total on Monday if both teams are playing well. I think the line’s thick enough for the Wildcats to get in there.
