The Nicholls Colonels and the Baylor Bears meet in college basketball action from the Ferrell Center on Wednesday night.

The Nicholls Colonels will look to build on a 90-46 win over Trinity Baptist last time out. Latrell Jones leads Nicholls in scoring with 15.5 PPG and 5 RPG while Micah Thomas has 10.9 PPG with a team-high 4.3 APG to lead Nicholls in the assist department up to this point in the season. Caleb Huffman also has 15.4 PPG with 4.3 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Nicholls this season. Manny Littles also has 8.5 RPG to lead the Colonels in rebounding as well this season. The Baylor Bears will be looking to build on their 58-48 win over Northwestern State in their last game. I get Baylor being favored here and wasn’t surprised by it in the slightest. However, Nicholls State has done a good job at battling the much better teams on their schedule fairly hard this season and the Colonels have done a good job as sizeable underdogs this season and they’ve done well against solid competition, losing to Texas Tech and Mississippi State this month by a combined 9 points. It’s always a tricky spot to go against Baylor, but I’ll side with Nicholls State here.
