The Northwestern State Demons and the Baylor Bears meet in college basketball action from the Ferrell Center on Tuesday night.

The Northwestern State Demons will look to rebound from a 110-73 road loss to Rice in their last game. Demarcus Sharp leads the Demons in scoring and assists with 16.3 PPG and 4 APG while JaMonta’ Black has 13.9 PPG with 3.4 RPG and Isaac Haney has 12.8 PPG with 4.4 RPG as well to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Northwestern State so far this season while Jalen Hampton has a team-high 6.7 RPG to lead the Demons on the glass this season. As a team, Northwestern State is averaging 74.7 PPG on 41% shooting from the field, 36.9% from three and 70.5% from the foul line this season.

The Baylor Bears will hope to build on a 65-59 win over Washington State in their last matchup. Keyonte George leads Baylor in scoring with 16 PPG along with 4.4 RPG and 4.1 APG while Adam Flagler has 15.7 PPG and a team-high 4.4 APG to lead the Bears in the assist department and LJ Cryer has 15.3 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Baylor so far this season. Flo Thamba also has a team-high 5.2 RPG to lead the Bears on the glass this season. As a team, Baylor is averaging 82.6 PPG on 48.2% shooting from the field, 35.8% from three and 72.1% from the foul line this season.

Northwestern State is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall. Baylor is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the case to be made for Northwestern State as the Demons have been a big surprise compared to what we’ve seen from them in past seasons where they were essentially a doormat for much of D-I. However, I think that success is getting us a reasonable line with Baylor here as the Bears are the far better team in this matchup and are a far better team than some of the close calls we’ve seen them have this season. I think this is a put your foot down and draw a line in the sand game for Baylor and I just don’t see Northwestern State having any answer. Give me the Bears in a beatdown.
