Baylor vs Washington State 12/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Washington State Cougars and the Baylor Bears meet Sunday in college basketball action from American Airlines Center. Washington State comes into this one at 4-5 overall. The Cougars lost to UNLV in their last game. As for Baylor, they’re sitting at 7-2 on the year and coming off a win over Tarleton State. Washington State went 3-2 over their first five games this year with losses to Boise State and Prairie View. After losses to Oregon and Utah, the Cougars beat Western Kentucky before another loss to UNLV. 

Last weekend versus UNLV, the Cougars were down 33-30 by halftime. Washington State scored 40 points in the second but still lost 74-70. TJ Bamba was tops in scoring with 20 points and four rebounds. 

Over on the Baylor side, they’ve taken losses to Virginia and Marquette so far this year. Otherwise it’s been wins over MS Valley State, Norfolk State, Northern Colorado, UCLA, McNeese, Gonzaga and Tarleton State. 

On Tuesday versus Tarleton State, the Bears were up 39-30 by halftime. Baylor hit a 41-27 run in the second half for an 80-57 win. Keyonte George led the way on 22 points with seven rebounds and six assists during the victory. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Baylor in this one. The Bears didn’t have too many issues versus a decent Tarleton State team in their last outing. Baylor shot 46.4 percent from the field in that one with 41 rebounds and 13 team assists. The Bears have hit 70 or more points in all but one game (Gonzaga) this year and should hit that mark again in this matchup. As for Washington State, they’ve scored well in comparable matchups so far this year but they’ll likely have trouble keeping up here if Baylor plays to their capabilities.
