The Colorado State Rams and the Boise State Broncos meet Friday in college basketball action from ExtraMile Arena. Here’s a Boise State vs Colorado State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Boise State vs Colorado State pick.
Colorado State Rams Betting Preview
Colorado State got off to a nice start this year, winning nine of their first 11 games. The victories in that time were over Incarnate Word, Omaha, Cal Poly, Loyola Chicago, Wichita State, South Florida, Colorado, Dartmouth and Northern New Mexico. The next five games were a 2-3 run featuring losses to Utah State, Nevada and UNLV. Across the first 16 games of the season Colorado State put together an 11-5 record.
On Tuesday versus Fresno State the Rams were in trouble with a 36-22 deficit at the break. Colorado State got slightly better from there on a 47-43 advantage in the second half but ended up losing 79-69 in the end. Brandon Rechsteiner put up 18 points with three assists in the defeat, while Carey Booth had 15 points and nine boards. Jevin Muniz added 12 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Boise State Broncos Betting Preview
Over on the Boise State side, they mustered a spotty 4-3 run in their first seven games. The Broncos fell versus Hawaii Pacific, USC and NC State in those games. Boise State would go 5-1 over the next six outings with wins over Chaminade, Butler, Duquesne, Saint Mary’s and New Mexico. After losses to San Diego State, Grand Canyon and Utah State, the Broncos had a 9-7 run in their first 16 games this year.
Matched up against UNLV in the Tuesday game the Broncos were trailing by one point 40-39 by the end of the first half. Boise State was able to tie things up and force overtime, where they eventually lost 89-85 after a 13-9 deficit in the extra period. Tops in scoring during the losing effort was Drew Fielder with 23 points and four rebounds. Andrew Meadow added 21 points with six boards and Dylan Andrews had 14 points with four assists and two rebounds.

Boise State vs Colorado State Prediction
I’ll lean toward Boise State. The Broncos are coming off a tough overtime loss on the road versus a middling UNLV team, so coming back home for this one should give them a lift. Boise State shot 49.2 percent in their Tuesday defeat with a 48-46 advantage on points in the paint. The Broncos also hit just 3-of-14 (21.4 percent) from outside and had 14 turnovers with a 36-30 deficit on the boards, however. Boise State has now lost four straight games, giving up 75 or more in all four and 89 or more in three of them (with two overtime games mixed in).
As for Colorado State, they couldn’t find their groove against a sub-.500 Fresno State team this week despite shooting a nice 46.4 percent from the field. The Rams gave up 45.3 percent shooting on the other side and fell victim to an excellent performance at the line (23-of-24 for 95.8 percent) by the Bulldogs. Colorado State is 2-4 in their last six games but they’ve scored 69 or more points in four straight.
