The North Texas Mean Green and the Boise State Broncos meet Tuesday in college basketball action from ExtraMile Arena. North Texas Mean Green 

The Mean Green were able to take out Northern Iowa and Omaha in their first two games this year, then hit consecutive losses versus St. John’s and LSU. In the next two games North Texas was able to start a win streak with victories versus Towson and Angelo State. In the 79-50 win over the Rams, the Mean Green held a 42-26 rebounding edge. 

North Texas made it three in a row with a win over Mississippi Valley State in their last outing. The Mean Green were up 41-28 by halftime and cruised to a 79-48 win on 38 more points from there. Leading the team in the winning effort was Rubin Jones with 15 points, two rebounds and three assists.

Boise State Broncos

Over on the Boise State side, they won consecutive games to start the year over Vanguard and San Francisco, then took consecutive losses to Clemson and Virginia Tech. The Broncos would then bag a win over VCU before another defeat at the hands of Butler. In the 70-56 loss to the Bulldogs, Boise State hit an ice-cold 32.3 percent from the field. 

Boise State was able to bounce back with a win over Saint Mary’s on Friday, but it was a close one. The Broncos were up 34-24 by halftime and had to hang on for the win 63-60. Tyson Degenhart led the way on 17 points and five assists, while Chibuzo Agbo chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE NORTH TEXAS VS BOISE STATE PREDICTION

I’m staying with North Texas. The Mean Green had no issues in their last outing versus an overmatched MS Valley State team, shooting 53.7 percent from the field and 43.5 percent (10-of-23) from 3-point range. North Texas has scored well in their wins, with 75 or more points in four of the five. 

As for Boise State, they hit 47.7 percent from the field versus Saint Mary’s but got out-rebounded 32-27 (10-5) in the tight victory. The Broncos are going to want to slow this one down, as they’ve scored 65 points or fewer in each of their last three wins. If North Texas posts a good offensive effort here, I think the Green will cover. Should be an interesting matchup, though.
