Boise State vs San Diego State 2/22/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The San Diego State Aztecs and the Boise State Broncos meet Tuesday in college basketball action from ExtraMile Arena. San Diego State is sitting at 17-6 overall. The Aztecs beat Fresno State in their last game. As for Boise State, they’re 21-6 and coming off a win over Utah State. San Diego State has yet to lose consecutive games this year; they’ve been quite the consistent team. The Aztecs are riding a five-game win streak right now, taking out Nevada, San Jose State, Air Force, Utah State and Fresno State in that time. 

Matched up against Fresno State on Saturday, the Aztecs hit a 30-20 run in the first half and a 31-24 stretch from there in a 61-44 victory. Tops on the team in scoring was Chad Baker-Mazara with 20 points and three boards off the bench. 

Over on the Boise State side, their year began a sketchy 3-4 but they haven’t lost consecutive outings since then. The Broncos are 4-1 in their last five with wins over San Jose State, UNLV, Air Force and Utah State in that stretch. 

On Saturday versus Utah State, the Broncos were down by one point at the break. Boise State surged on a 39-27 run in the second for the 68-57 comeback victory. Marcus Shaver led the team with his 20 points and three steals. 

The Broncos are 1-5 ATS in their last six at home and the under is 9-2 in their last 11 Tuesday games. The over is 6-1 in Boise State’s last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Aztecs are 4-0 ATS in their last four Tuesday games and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 road games. The under is 16-5 in San Diego State’s last 21 Tuesday games. 

PICK: I’m going to try Boise State here. You could probably make a case either way, though. The last time these teams met up, we had an irregular and low-scoring game. Boise State ended up with a 42-37 road win as both teams shot less than 32 percent from the field. 

This rematch is likely going to be another tight one, but it’ll be tough to outperform the low total of the January 22 outing. I like the Broncos to power out a cover here, but I’m probably not touching it in reality.
