The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Boston College Eagles meet in college basketball action from the Conte Forum on Tuesday night.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will try to bounce back from a 76-65 loss to Miami in their last game. Nate Laszewski leads Notre Dame in scoring and rebounding with 13.9 PPG and 7.8 RPG while Dane Goodwin has 11.4 PPG with 4.2 RPG and J.J. Starling has 12.3 PPG with 3.1 RPG. Cormac Ryan has 12.2 PPG with 4.4 RPG and Trey Wertz has 10.4 PPG with a team-high 3.6 APG to lead the Irish in assists and to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Notre Dame up to this point in the season. As a team, Notre Dame is averaging 70.1 PPG on 46.4% shooting from the field, 38% from three and 79.9% from the foul line this season.

The Boston College Eagles will hope to bounce back from a 79-65 road loss to Syracuse last time out. Makai Ashton-Langford leads Boston College in scoring with 11.8 PPG and 2.1 APG while also logging 3.4 RPG and Jaeden Zackery has 10.4 PPG with 3.6 RPG and 2.1 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for Boston College up to this point in the year as well as the Eagles’ leader in assists. T.J. Bickerstaff also has a team-high 6.9 RPG to lead the Eagles on the glass up to this point in the season. As a team, Boston College is averaging 64.4 PPG on 41.3% shooting from the field, 27% from three and 67.5% from the foul line this season.

Notre Dame is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 road games. Boston College is 2-10 ATS in their last 12 home games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games against a team with a losing road record while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall.

I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but I’m backing Notre Dame here. I just don’t trust the Eagles offensively, and while Notre Dame’s had their fair share of blips lately, the reality is that this is still a Notre Dame team that takes a lot of good quality shots and makes them as well as makes their free throws which could be key in what should be a tight game. All in all, I think we have a tight affair brewing, but one that Notre Dame bangs out a cover in.
