The Gamecocks’ season started out on a 2-2 run with losses to Indiana and North Florida around wins over South Carolina State and Towson. South Carolina is 2-1 since then with a loss to Xavier between wins versus Mercer and Virginia Tech.
Matched up against Virginia Tech in their last outing, the Gamecocks held an eight-point lead by the break and ended up winning 70-60 after 37 more second-half points. Collin Murray-Boyles wast the only starter in double-figures with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Boston College Eagles Betting Preview
Over on the Boston College side, they’ve got two losses on their card this year versus VCU and Dartmouth. The Eagles have otherwise beaten the Citadel, Temple, Loyola MD, Old Dominion, Missouri State and Boise State.
In their game versus Dartmouth on Friday, the Eagles held a slim two-point lead going into the locker room. Boston College was outscored 46-39 from there however, falling 88-83. Joshua Beadle led the team with 19 points and three boards off the bench.

I’ll probably try Boston College. The Eagles had a pretty rough second half against a middling Dartmouth team in their last outing however, and they’ll need a good bounce-back here. Boston College ended up shooting very well overall in that one (51.8 percent) but hit just 5-of-23 (21.7 percent) from 3-point range. The 20-of-27 (74.1 percent) wasn’t great either. That said, the 83 points were the Eagles’ highest total of the season so far.
As for South Carolina, they shot a reasonable 44.2 percent from the floor but not great from the line (13-of-21) in their latest win over Virginia Tech. The Gamecocks have scored 70 or more points in all four of their wins this year, and 70 or more in six of seven games overall. I like South Carolina to help push this one to a high total, but Boston College should have cover (and maybe even win) capability if they play well.
