The Temple Owls and the Boston College Eagles meet Friday in college basketball action from Conte Forum. Here’s a Boston College vs Temple prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Boston College vs Temple pick.
Temple Owls Betting Preview
Temple is off to a solid 3-0 start after a trio of victories so far. The Owls took out Sacred Heart 81-70 without too much difficulty in their opener. Temple would follow that up with a 103-74 drubbing on the road versus Monmouth.
On Tuesday the Owls played their closest game of the year so far. Temple was up on Drexel 37-32 by halftime and stayed consistent from there in a nice 69-61 win. Leading scorer was Zion Stanford with 23 points, while Jamal Mashburn Jr. added 20 points.
Boston College Eagles Betting Preview
Over on the Boston College side, they’ve only got two games in the books so far. First came a 69-60 win over the Citadel. Boston College held a 37-28 halftime lead in that one. Donald Hand was the team’s leading scorer with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Game two was a matchup versus VCU, and Boston College was in trouble from the beginning with a 33-20 halftime deficit. The Eagles were outscored 47-35 from there in an 80-55 defeat. Hand topped the team once again with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Boston College vs Temple Prediction
I’ll lean toward Temple. The Owls have looked pretty good so far, though they admittedly haven’t taken on the greatest competition. In their last outing versus Drexel, Temple was out-rebounded 43-38 (17-10 offensive) and missed 10 of 31 free throws (67.7 percent). The Owls controlled the ball well with just seven turnovers however, and held the Dragons to just 34.3 percent shooting from the field.
As for Boston College, they shot a miserable 29.3 percent from the field and 18.2 percent (2-of-11) from 3-point range in their loss to VCU. The 17 turnovers didn’t help either. The Eagles will need to dominate on the boards in order to stay in control here. That said, I like a hot Temple team better on the cover/win.
