Dartmouth went just 1-4 to start the year, falling to Fordham, Bryant, Quinnipiac and Incarnate Word. The Big Green hit a 3-3 stretch over the next six games, losing to Grambling State, Vermont and Central CT State along the way.
In Friday’s Central CT State matchup, the Big Green took a 25-22 edge into the second half. The Big Green were outscored 37-25 the rest of the way and lost 59-50. Cade Haskins led the team on 12 points and six rebounds.
Over on the Boston U side, they went 4-1 over their first five with a lone loss to UConn on November 11. The Terriers are just 2-4 in the six games since, losing to SEMO, UC Davis, Milwaukee and Notre Dame.
In Saturday’s matchup versus Marist, the Terriers held a 31-28 advantage at halftime. Boston U scored 41 points in the second half and took a 72-70 win. Walter Whyte was tops on the team with his 25 points and eight rebounds.
PICK: I’ll probably take Boston U in this one. The Terriers have looked pretty good over their last three games, even with the six-point loss to Notre Dame. After some early-season offensive duds, Boston U has scored 68 or more in four straight outings. As for Dartmouth, they’ve scored just 102 combined points over their last two games. That said, the Big Green does have some big offensive outings themselves this year and they’ll be able to put up a good total here if they’re playing well. I like Boston U better on the cover, though.
