The Navy Midshipmen and the Boston University Terriers meet Friday in college basketball action from Case Gym. Navy is sitting at 7-5 so far this year. The Midshipmen lost to VCU in their last game. As for Boston U, they’re 7-6 following a loss to UMass Lowell last week. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Navy went 5-1 over their first six games this year with a lone loss to Coppin State. Since then the Midshipmen are just 2-4 however, falling to Lipscomb, VMI, West Virginia and VCU during that stretch.

In the VCU game last Wednesday, the Midshipmen went into halftime down 37-30. Navy was drilled 37-22 in the second half during a 74-52 blowout loss. Tyler Nelson led the team on 17 points with eight rebounds.

Over on the Boston U side, they were 4-2 after their first six games with losses to UConn and SEMO. It’s been a 3-4 stretch since then with losses to Milwaukee, UC Davis, Notre Dame and UMass Lowell.

Matched up against UMass Lowell last week, the Terriers held a 30-28 edge at the break. Boston U was outpaced 40-30 in the second half however and lost 68-60. Ethan Brittain-Watts led the scoring on 16 points.

PICK: I’ll probably lean Navy here. I’m not touching this one, but on paper it looks like a pretty good matchup. Navy has been a fairly inconsistent team all season so far, however they’re scoring pretty well overall. The Midshipmen have hit 68 or more points in 10 of their 12 games so far. As for Boston U, they’ve hit 67 or more points in five of their last six games, going 3-3 in that stretch. This one should be a fairly high-scoring game if both teams are on point, but I like Navy a little better cover/win-wise.
