The Colgate Raiders and the Brown Bears meet in college basketball action from the Pizzitola Sports Center on Thursday night.

The Colgate Raiders will look to rebound from an 88-87 loss to Buffalo in their season opener. Tucker Richardson led the Raiders with 23 points on 10 of 18 shooting with a team-high 8 assists while Braeden Smith had 20 points on 6 of 8 shooting with 7 rebounds and Ryan Moffatt added 15 points on 4 of 8 shooting to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Colgate in the losing effort. Keegan Records also had a team-high 8 rebounds as well in the losing effort.

The Brown Bears will also try to bounce back from a season opening loss at the hands of Vermont by a final score of 80-65. Kino Lilly Jr. led the Bears in scoring with 18 points on 7 of 16 shooting while Dan Friday and Paxson Wojcik each had 13 points with Friday shooting 4 of 7 from the field while Wojcik had a team-high 10 rebounds for the double-double in the winning effort.

Colgate is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games following an ATS loss. Brown is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 0-8 ATS in their last 8 home games while the over is 9-3 in their last 12 games following an ATS loss.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m sticking with Colgate here. I’m not overly high on what Brown’s bringing to the table here and while they battled tough in the opener, so did Colgate against a solid Buffalo team. I could easily make the case either way, but I like how this Colgate team is build and matches up with the Bears. Not a game I’m running to the window to bet, but I’d back Colgate laying the points here.
