The Maine Black Bears and the Bryant Bulldogs meet Saturday in America East Tournament college basketball action from Chace Athletic Center. Here’s a Bryant vs Maine prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Bryant vs Maine pick.
Maine Black Bears Betting Preview
This year the Black Bears have had a couple of spotty runs mixed with some nice stretches of solid play, but overall it’s been a pretty solid season record-wise. Maine kicked things off with an 8-5 record, taking losses to Duke, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Penn and Fordham in that time. Losses to Stony Brook, Boston U and Bryant came next, then wins over Binghamton, Albany, NJIT, UMBC, Umass Lowell and New Hampshire. Maine would hit a 3-5 run after that, taking wins over NJIT, UMBC and New Hampshire in that time among losses to Vermont (twice), Albany, Binghamton and Bryant. Since then it’s been a pair of wins over UMass Lowell ahead of a victory versus Vermont. In total that gives the Black Bears a 20-13 overall record this year.
In the Vermont road rematch on Tuesday, the Black Bears opened the game with a 27-19 advantage. Maine kept it up on a 30-23 run from there and took the win in the end 57-42. Kellen Tynes topped the scorers on 13 points with 13 rebounds, three steals, three blocks and one assist. AJ Lopez was the only other player on the team to finish in double-figures with 12 points, two rebounds and one steal. Jaden Clayton added nine points with four rebounds and two assists, while Christopher Mantis led the bench scoring with seven points in 20 minutes.

Bryant Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Bryant side, they were looking pretty rough in the win column as 2024 came to a close, but since then they’ve been doing great. The Bulldogs lost nine of their first 15 games, taking out only Dean College, Buffalo, Delaware, Tennessee State, Drexel and Vermont State – Johnson in that time. A win streak over Maine, Vermont, Albany, UMass Lowell, New Hampshire, Binghamton, UMBC and NJIT came next before a loss to Albany. Since then Bryant is on an 8-1 run with a loss to Vermont among wins over Binghamton, UMBC, NJIT, Umass Lowell, Maine, New Hampshire, UMBC and Albany in succession. Bryant has notched a 22-11 overall run in their 33 games so far this season.
Matched up against Albany at home on Tuesday, the Bulldogs were up by six at the break. Bryant hit a 52-45 run in the second half and took the eventual win 91-78. Leading the team in production was Keyshawn Mitchell, who doubled up on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Earl Timberlake added 21 points with three rebounds, three assists and four blocks, while Barry Evans had 20 points with nine boards and six assists. Connor Withers added 13 points with five rebounds and nine assists. Kvonn Cramer chipped in with 10 points off the bench.

Bryant vs Maine Prediction
I’m going to stick with Bryant. The Bulldogs are playing very well these days and coming off another win over a middling Albany team. In that Tuesday matchup, Bryant shot a nice 52.3 percent from the field with a 40-33 rebounding edge and 19 team assists. The Bulldogs also went 18-of-22 (81.8 percent) from the line but did have 13 turnovers for 12 Great Danes points. Still, it was a nice revenge effort after a February 6 loss to Albany. Bryant has now won five straight, scoring 79 or more points in each.
These teams have seen each other twice already, with Bryant posting wins 81-55 at home (January 4) and on the road 80-72 (March 1). In that March game, the Bulldogs shot well from the field (47.5 percent) but did miss eight of 26 free throws (69.2 percent). Still, if they keep playing like they have been lately, Bryant will be had to topple on Saturday.
