The Canisius Golden Griffins and the Buffalo Bulls meet Sunday in college basketball action from UB Alumni Arena. Canisius is currently 2-3 on the year so far and coming off a loss to Cornell. As for Buffalo, they’re 2-4 this season. The Bulls beat George Mason in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Canisius lost their first matchup of the year to Youngstown State but bounced back for an 84-80 win over St. Bonaventure in game two. The Griffins would then lose to Cleveland State 58-57 before a win over Fredonia 98-52.

On Tuesday versus Cornell, Canisius took another loss. The Griffins trailed 45-34 going into the second half and ended up with a 79-70 defeat. Jordan Henderson was the top team scorer with 24 points and three assists.

Over on the Buffalo side, they eked out a win over Colgate in their opener 88-87. The Bulls would then hit a losing streak in their next four. Those losses came to James Madison, UCOnn, Drake and Howard.

Buffalo got back into the win column on Monday versus George Mason. The Bulls were up 38-32 by the break and ended up with an 82-74 victory. Isaiah Adams topped the team on 24 points, and Curtis Jones added 22 points.

PICK: I’m probably going to take a stab on Buffalo. The Bulls have had a few shaky outings this year against better teams—the only real blowouts were versus James Madison and UConn, though. Otherwise Buffalo has been fairly competitive. The Bulls should be able to hang a pretty solid points total on Canisius as well: the Griffins have given up 79 or more points in three of their five games so far. If Buffalo can get their offense going early here I think they’ll be fine.
