The Grand Canyon Antelopes and the Cal Baptist Lancers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from CBU Events Center. Grand Canyon is 17-6 this year. The Antelopes lost to Dixie State in their last outing. As for Cal Baptist, they’re 14-11 on the season and coming off a win over UTRGV. Grand Canyon managed a 14-2 run to start the year. The Antelopes then lost three straight games in late January, but bounced back with wins over Seattle U, California Baptist and Utah Valley before another loss to Dixie State.
On Saturday versus Dixie State, the Antelopes had a slim 25-23 lead by halftime. Grand Canyon couldn’t keep it up in the second and lost a tough one 61-60. Holland Woods and Gabe McGlothan each scored 11 points to lead the team.
Over on the Cal Baptist side, they posted a 10-3 start to the year. The Lancers would then hit a rough 2-8 stretch that leaked into February, though. The last pair of games have both been wins over Lamar and UTRGV.
Matched up against the Vaqueros on Saturday, the Lancers came out of halftime with a 34-34 tie. Cal Baptist hit a 46-38 run in the second half for the 80-72 victory. Taran Armstrong topped the team on 18 options with nine assists.
Cal Baptist is 1-4 ATS in their last five at home and 0-4 ATS in their last four Wednesday games. The over is 8-3 in the Lancers’ last 11 overall.

PICK: I’m going to try Cal Baptist here. The Lancers have certainly had their ups and downs lately (like that recent five-game losing streak), but the last two games have both been successes. Cal Baptist has hit 68 points or more in nine of their last 11 outings, so they should be able to put up a reasonable effort here.
The last time these teams met up on February 5, Grand Canyon took a 56-50 win at home. I like this one to feature a higher total, with Cal Baptist powering out the cover in a compelling game.
